Imagery and Figurative Language

At first I thought that imagery was language that appeals to the five senses, but then I learned that this is right. I also learned about figurative language. I used to think that figurative language was a phrase used to describe something in terms of something else and is not meant to be understood on a literal level, but I learned that it is what I just said it is. The three main types of figurative language are metaphor, simile, and personification.

Irony & Ambiguity

At first I didn't know what irony is, but i learned that this was wrong.Actually, irony is either when someone says one thing but means the opposite or something unexpected. There are three types of irony: verbal irony, situational irony, and dramatic irony.I also learned about ambiguity. I used to not know what ambiguity is, but i learned that ambiguity is a choice of one or more meanings or interpretation. On my irony and ambiguity pretest my score is currently unavailable. On my irony and ambiguity posttest i hope that i will be above grade-level .

Second Quarter Goals 2008

I have three goals for this quarter.

1. This quarter, I will raise my grade to at least a B or a C, in order to achieve this, I will do all my homework including my homework that is not worth very many points.
2. This quarter, I will not get any kick outs, in order to achieve this, I will pay attention in class and not go along with any of the other students idiotic behavior.
3. This quarter, I will bring all my grades up to an A or B, in order to achieve this I will do all my homework, study for all my tests, make sure to take notes on things we go over in class.
